 Our History & MissionSince 1981, TRAINING 3 has served as the DHHS Region III Family Planning Training Center. Located in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and one of ten such national training centers, TRAINING 3's primary charge has
been to help ensure that family planning staff and programs throughout Region III have the knowledge, skills,
and attitudes necessary to deliver effective, quality family planning services. Over the years TRAINING 3 has
evolved into a comprehensive performance improvement center, identifying and responding to the job
performance-related needs of a variety of family planning, health care, and social service programs.
This is achieved nationally and throughout Region III by designing, delivering, and evaluating the
most effective training and other performance improvement interventions such as those described throughout this web site.
Staff and Faculty
Our staff and faculty represent a full scope of experience, knowledge, and skill in the fields of
reproductive and sexual health, training, organizational development, and performance improvement.
We will work with you to identify the staff or faculty with an area of expertise who best fits your
performance improvement needs.
TRAINING 3 is a program of the Family Planning Council and supported by the Office of Population
Affairs and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Health and Human Services.
